Do you already know quite a bit of German and want to build your confidence before advancing to the next level? Whether you would like to talk about yourself more easily, have smoother conversations with friends, or use German more effectively for your studies or work, this 4-day German language booster is the perfect way to achieve that!
In a relaxed and supportive environment, you will practice your German with a native-speaking teacher and fellow students. You will discover that improving your language skills can be fun, engaging, and motivating.
Who is this course for?
This course is intended for participants who speak German at CEFR level A2 or beginner B1. The course is taught in German as much as possible, with explanations provided in Dutch or English depending on the group participants. It is therefore important that you have a good command of English in order to participate in the course.
If you are unsure whether this level is right for you, you can test yourself online using the placement test! Alternatively, make an appointment for the online office hour to get personal advice.
What will you learn in this course?
During four lively 3-hour lessons, you will build your speaking skills through engaging activities such as:
- Role plays and language games
- Q&A games
- Mini-debates on current topics and topics of your choice
These activities will help you expand your vocabulary, improve your grasp of key grammar rules, and refine your pronunciation.
What kind of self-study do you do?
You will continue to improve your German between lessons! You will receive fun, practical tools, such as listening exercises and short video clips, to improve your comprehension and pronunciation at home. You should expect to spend a total of 18 hours on self-study to keep up with the course.
What will you be able to do after the course?
By the end of the Speak Up! German pre-intermediate course, you will feel much more confident speaking German in everyday life. You will be able to:
- Express your opinions and ideas clearly and naturally
- Talk about yourself, your work or studies with ease
- Easily book hotels and restaurants
- Understand the subtleties, tone, and rhythm of the language
