Are you a German speaker already able to speak Dutch quite fluently, but would like to work towards an advanced level? In this Dutch course from the University of Groningen Language Centre, we start at level B1. You will continue to learn the language in order to be able to use it in more complex situations. This way, you will be challenged to speak even better Dutch!

At the Language Centre, you will learn Dutch at a fast pace using teaching methods we developed ourselves. Our language courses focus on speaking and understanding the Dutch language. This way, you will quickly start to feel more or less at home with the language, and you will naturally expand your knowledge of grammar and vocabulary.

Who is this course for?

This course is intended for native speakers of German with an intermediate level of Dutch at CEFR level B1. During the course, we will work towards level B2 . The course is taught as much as possible in Dutch, with explanations in English when necessary. It is therefore important that you have a good command of English to participate in the course.

The course is openly accessible to everyone: UG students, UG staff, and external parties! Full-time international students, PhD students, and postdocs of the University of Groningen can take these Dutch courses at the Language Centre at the expense of the Board of the University of Groningen. Read all about these regulations and see if it applies to you here
