English pronunciation course

In exercises and videos, you will practise English sounds and stresses, and learn about other learners’ accents. By the end of the course, you will have improved your English pronunciation so you will feel confident about speaking English in different contexts. You’ll have a greater understanding of some of the rules of English pronunciation and how they can differ. As well as looking at elements such as vowels, consonants and other features, you’ll also examine different English accents.

Who is this course for?

This course is intended for participants with an advanced level of English at CEFR level B2 or C1.

What is the study load of the course?

The course consists of six lessons of 1.5 contact hours. You should expect to spend a total of 18 hours on independent study in order to stay on track with the course.

Course material

The course leader will provide you with course materials via the Brightspace online learning environment of the University of Groningen.

Rosetta Stone

A Rosetta Stone independent study account is a great tool to use alongside the course. You can also use it to keep working on your language skills even after the course has finished. Please note that a Rosetta Stone account is not compulsory for the course and will not be used by the teacher, but it can give your language learning an extra boost!
