This course is for participants at a pre-intermediate level of Italian at CEFR level A2/B1. During the course, we work towards level B1. The course is taught in Italian as much as possible, with explanations provided in Dutch or English depending on the group participants. It is therefore important that you have a good command of English in order to participate in the course.
If you are unsure whether this level is right for you, you can test yourself online using the placement test! Alternatively, make an appointment for the online consultation to get personal advice from our teacher.
The course consists of 12 lessons of two hours each, during which the following will be covered:
The actual content may vary, but the aim is to provide a solid foundation for effective communication in Italian and expand your language skills. The course will be more focused on listening and speaking, and we will use podcasts, reading and comprehension exercises, presentations and debates in class.
To keep up with the course, you will have to spend about 30 hours in total on independent study. Independent study will often entail writing assignments in which you will use the vocabulary and grammar that you have learned during the course. We will also use those writing assignments in class to further discuss this topic and improve your oral fluency.
Remember, language learning is a continuous process, and reaching the B1 level is a significant achievement. To further improve your skills, it is recommended to continue practising Italian through conversations with native speakers whenever possible, reading Italian texts, watching Italian movies or TV shows, and engaging in other immersive activities.
There is no book requested for this course. Course material will be provided during the lessons.
