Are you a complete beginner and keen to learn Korean? This course will introduce you to Hangul, the alphabetic system used for writing the Korean language, and teach you how to pronounce it correctly. You will also be immersed in the rich Korean culture. We will guide you through the world of K-pop and K-drama and introduce you to fascinating aspects of Korean society.
Who is this course for?

This course is for beginners of Korean. During the course, we work towards CEFR level pre-A1. The course is taught in Korean as much as possible, with explanations provided in English when necessary. The teaching material is in English. It is therefore important that you have a good command of English in order to participate in the course.

What will you learn in this course?

The course consists of 12 two-hour lessons, during which the following topics will be covered:

  • Reading and writing Hangul (Korean alphabetic system)
  • Pronunciation
  • Numbers

How many hours of independent study are required?

You should expect to spend a total of 30 hours on independent study in order to stay on track with the course. This involves, for example, studying Hangul letters, their pronunciation, and completing exercises on subjects you have learnt in class. You can also use self-study sets on Quizlet to expand your vocabulary.
