Writing with AI - for support staff

What will you learn in this workshop? 

The first hour of this workshop is dedicated to learning how AI text generators —such as ChatGPT, Bing and other neural networks— generate text. You will learn about the advantages and potential of AI for writing, but also about the ethical aspects you need to take into account. And what about the AI policy within the University of Groningen and the safeguarding of privacy? These topics will also be addressed  in the first hour.

In the second hour, you will practise writing with AI by completing a series of assignments. This will allow you to discover the various possibilities of AI text generators. You will learn tricks that will help you enter the right prompts (search queries) to ensure that AI will provide the desired output. You will discover how AI can help you start writing, structure your text and improve it once it is finished.

For who is this workshop intended?

This workshop is intended for University of Groningen staff members who do not teach and who want to learn how to write with AI in their work. The workshop is aimed at people who have never, rarely, or occasionally used AI, but is also partly of interest for those who already have some experience.

• Use AI in a way that fits within the University of Groningen policy.
