TOEFL exam preparation

This three-week course will prepare you to take the official TOEFL iBT® Test, the most widely accepted English language test for international students and professionals. Through this course you will gain a deep understanding of the TOEFL test format and scoring system. The TOEFL test itself is also offered at the University of Groningen Language Centre. Who is this course for?

This course is ideal for anyone who is planning to take the TOEFL test. It is especially beneficial for students who are applying to English-speaking universities or for professionals who are seeking jobs in English-speaking countries.

What will you learn in this course?

The course consists of 3 lessons of 2 hours each. The test preparation course will cover all four sections of the test: reading, listening, speaking, and writing. You will:

• Improve your English language skills in all four areas
• Practise with realistic test materials
• Receive feedback from experienced TOEFL instructors

How many hours of independent study are required?

You should expect to spend a total of 9 hours on independent study in order to stay on track with the course. This involves, for example, taking the practice tests, reviewing any feedback to prepare for the next practice, completing vocabulary, grammar, and other assignments, and reflecting on what can be done to improve further.

What will you be able to do after the course?

• Develop strategies for answering each type of question effectively
• Feel confident and prepared on test day

After successfully completing this course, you will be ready for the TOEFL iBT Test.
