This English course of the University of Groningen Language Centre is designed for learners who have achieved an upper-intermediate to advanced level (B2/C1). Open to adult learners from diverse backgrounds, the course provides a supportive and engaging environment to build confidence and competence across all four language skills.
During the course, you will focus on developing greater accuracy, fluency, and complexity in all four language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. We use authentic materials and practical topics relevant to everyday, academic, and professional situations.
Who is this course for?
This course is intended for participants with an upper-intermediate level of English at CEFR level B2/C1. If you are unsure whether this level is right for you, you can make an appointment for the online consultation to get personal advice from our teacher.
What will you learn in this course?
The course comprises six 2-hour sessions. You should expect to spend a total of 12 hours on independent study in order to stay on track with the course. Key areas of focus include:
- Expanding vocabulary and idiomatic expressions appropriate for advanced communication
- Strengthening grammatical accuracy and flexibility
- Enhancing listening skills to understand detailed and implicit meanings
- Improving spoken fluency, interaction, and presentation skills
- Writing clear, well-organized texts suited to academic and professional needs
