Take your first steps in Italian with an Italian beginners course of the University of Groningen Language Centre. In this course, you will learn the basics of the Italian language and you will have a sneak peek of the Italian culture. Together with a small group of motivated course participants you will get to work with our enthusiastic Italian teacher who is able to make even topics like grammar fun!
Who is this course for?
This course is for beginners of Italian. During the course, we work towards CEFR level A1. The course is taught in Italian as much as possible,with explanations provided in Dutch or English depending on the group participants. It is therefore important that you have a good command of English in order to participate in the course.
What will you learn in this course?
The course comprises 12 lessons of two contact hours, and during the course you will learn, among other things:
Numbers up to 100
Pronunciation of letters and words
Present tense
Vocabulary
How many hours of independent study are required?
You should expect to spend a total of 30 hours on independent study in order to stay on track with the course. This involves, for example, doing writing assignments and grammar and vocabulary exercises.

Introduce yourself
Hold a conversation about topics such as family, work, and hobbies.
