Are you already able to express yourself well in Spanish and do you enjoy the language so much that you want to learn more? Then this Spanish course at the University of Groningen Language Centre is the right course for you. In this course at an intermediate level, you will learn to speak better Spanish and you will build on your existing knowledge of grammar. The teacher will also tell you about the culture of the Spanish-speaking world.
Who is this course for?
This course is for participants at a pre-intermediate level of Spanish at CEFR level A2. During the course, we work towards level A2/B1. The course is taught in Spanish as much as possible, with explanations provided in Dutch or English depending on the group participants. It is therefore important that you have a good command of English in order to participate in the course.

What will you learn in this course?
The course consists of 12 lessons of two hours each, during which the following topics will be covered:
- Direct and indirect object pronouns
- Affirmative and negative imperatives
- Present subjunctive mood
- Writing skills: proper use of capitalization, commas etc.
How many hours of independent study are required?
You should expect to spend a total of 30 hours on independent study in order to stay on track with the course. This involves, for example, completing assignments from the book and on the digital platform Campus Difusión. You will also receive additional material, such as news articles, podcasts, videos, and websites to read, listen to, or watch. All four skills – reading, speaking, writing, and listening – will be covered in your self-study.
