In this follow-up course Spanish for beginners of the University of Groningen Language Centre your grasp of the Spanish language will continue to increase. Our teaching method for the Spanish beginners course focuses on speaking and understanding the Spanish language. With this method, you will quickly feel at home in this beautiful language and you will automatically expand your grammar knowledge and vocabulary.
Who is this course for?
This course is for beginners of Spanish at CEFR level A1. During the course, we work towards CEFR level A1/A2. The course is taught in Spanish as much as possible, with explanations provided in Dutch or English depending on the group participants. It is therefore important that you have a good command of English in order to participate in the course.

What will you learn in this course?
The course comprises 12 two-hour lessons. During the course, you will learn, among other things:
More vocabulary
To make comparisons and to point out similarities and differences
How to use the verbs saber, poder, ser and estar, gustar, encantar and preferir
The present tense, present continuous, and pretérito indefinido
How many hours of independent study are required?
To properly keep up with the course, you will have to take into account a total of 30 hours of self-study. Self-study mainly comprises grammar exercises, vocabulary development, and listening exercises. You will also be asked to do a reading or writing exercise every now and again.

After successfully completing this course, you will be ready for the Spanish A1/A2>A2 follow-up course. You could also do the Conversational Spanish elementary course which fully focuses on speaking.
