This Spanish course perfectly complements the A2/B1>B1 course, but you can also take the course if you can already speak Spanish fairly easily. Would you like to improve your knowledge of Spanish for study, work or to understand your in-laws better? With this Spanish course from the University of Groningen Language Centre, you will be challenged to learn to speak even better Spanish!
Who is this course for?

This course is for participants at an intermediate level of Spanish at CEFR level B1. During the course, we work towards level B1/B2. The course is taught in Spanish as much as possible, with explanations provided in Dutch or English depending on the group participants. It is therefore important that you have a good command of English in order to participate in the course.

If you are unsure whether this level is right for you, you can test yourself online using the placement test! Alternatively, make an appointment for the online consultation to get personal advice from our teacher.

What will you learn in this course?

The course consists of 12 lessons of two hours each, during which the following topics will be covered:

  • Conditional tense
  • Spanish imperfect subjunctive mood
  • Using 'lo’ with possessive pronouns
  • Subjunctive vs indicative in Spanish
How many hours of independent study are required?

You should expect to spend a total of 30 hours on independent study in order to stay on track with the course. This involves, , for example, completing assignments from the book and on the digital platform Campus Difusión. You will also receive additional material, such as news articles, podcasts, videos, and websites to read, listen to, or watch. All four skills – reading, speaking, writing, and listening – will be covered in your self-study.

What will you be able to do after the course?
  • Describe films and series and explain what you did and did not like
  • Explain difficult situations and mention possible solutions
  • Express your interests appropriately
  • Defend your opinion in a discussion
